Digitisation in times of change

IDS invests in the future and relies on intelligent ERP system

"Artificial intelligence will change our market in the long term. We increasingly want to offer our customers ready-made solutions," explains IDS Managing Director Jan Hartmann. Thus the topic of machine learning is not only of great relevance in our product portfolio with our AI complete solution IDS NXT Experience Kit, but also internally in the operative area.

As a fast-growing, digital company, we are constantly striving to rethink our processes. We see the upheavals and challenges of the current situation as a great opportunity to take the digital transformation in our company another significant step forward. IDS has therefore decided to introduce a new, innovative real-time ERP suite for digital business that will further simplify internal processes by using artificial intelligence. The support potential is great. It starts with purchasing, e.g. proactive procurement based on past values, and continues with customer service. Here, AI can make a valuable contribution to finding solutions for customer applications, for example.

This means that we always have you, our customers and partners, in mind when we automate our own processes. Because we want to offer you the best user experience in the vision market. The new intelligent ERP system SAP S/4HANA will shorten our internal processes and thus also shorten reaction and delivery times. The current situation further increases the demands on process automation. After all, it has shown how essential it can be to react flexibly and quickly to a radical change in general conditions. IDS therefore sees the introduction of SAP as an investment in the future, both in its own and in that of its customers: From the first customer contact to after-sales support, it will enable transparency, innovation and integration.

Patrick Föll, in-house consultant for digitisation at IDS, sums up our motivation: "We want to create a very good customer experience, and we want to do so as efficiently and effectively as possible. To achieve this, end-to-end integrated IT plays a central role. This starts with end-to-end processes, continues with high data quality and ends with process transparency: Where is the customer's product and when can I make it available to them. Especially in times of crisis, it is important to take a closer look at this in order to be able to satisfy our customers' needs. Jan Hartmann is convinced: "Digitisation with the help of intelligent enterprise resource planning helps us to emerge from the crisis stronger and to get off to a flying start with full vigor and better processes.”
