The GV-5580FA GigE Vision camera is equipped with the 4.92 megapixel CMOS sensor (MT9P006STC colour version) from ON Semiconductor. About half an inch in size, the sensor delivers a resolution of 2560 x 1920 pixels. Thanks to the innovative A-Pix™ pixel technology, the sensor is very sensitive to light, which makes it an affordable alternative to many CCD sensors currently available on the market. This also makes the camera particularly suitable for applications that require maximum precision in colour rendering and crystal clear image quality.

The A-Pix™ pixel technology is based on the gathering of light by a lightguide, which directs the gathered incident light from the colour filter to the surface of the photo diode. Structure and process improvements in pixel technology have increased the sensitivity of the sensor in the red and green range in particular by up to 30 % compared to the previous version of the sensor.

Strong and robust: The uEye FA is particularly robust and therefore ideally suited for use in demanding environments such as factory automation. Camera housings, lens tubes and screwable connectors (8-pin M12 connector with X-coding and 8-pin Binder connector) meet the requirements of protection class IP65/67. This means that the models can withstand even the harshest industrial environments.
They are also especially suitable for multi-camera operation: an integrated image memory decouples image acquisition from image transmission.

Camera-internal functions such as pixel pre-processing, LUT or Gamma reduce the required computing power to a minimum.
The extensive accessories, such as lens tubes and drag chain cables, are just as tough. The cameras are also designed for large format sensors and are typically used for machine vision tasks in industrial plants and quality assurance.

Especially tough!

Particularly sturdy thanks to IP65/67

The industrial cameras meet protection class IP65/67 and are therefore optimally protected against dirt, dust and water splashes.

Maximum GigE transfer rate!

Single cable operation up to 100 m

The uEye FA cameras can be operated either with 12-24 V or alternatively via Power-over-Ethernet (PoE). PoE enables practical single-cable operation up to a maximum length of 100m.

It's so easy!

Plug & Play principle

The cameras are automatically detected in the system and are immediately ready for use. Buy a camera, connect it, receive an image - it couldn't be easier!

Industrial image processing is used in a wide variety of applications - from quality assurance to automation.

Medical technology (and laboratory automation)

Image processing is indispensable in medical technology. For instance, IDS cameras provide data for diagnostic purposes in ophthalmology or dentistry.

Safety technology

Image processing is used, for example, for access control or the monitoring of rooms or outdoor facilities.

Quality assurance

IDS cameras are used in different production phases, e.g. by checking completeness or by detecting defects.

Factory / process automation

Cameras are used in monitoring, control, regulation and optimization systems and help e.g. with localization and selection tasks.

Biotechnology and life sciences

Image processing can be used, for example, to analyse living organisms and biological processes - from swarm behaviour to cell division.
