Product Life Cycle Camera in series production. 🛈 Product Life Cycle Long-term availability is an important aspect when selecting the right industrial camera. Our camera finder gives you the life cycle of each camera model so that you can take this criterion into account in your camera selection. The following life cycle statuses are differed: In development The model is not yet in series production, but will be introduced shortly. In series Camera in series production. Not recommended for new designs The model is no longer recommended for new application development. We suggest looking for newer models of the "in series" availability. The availability of the model is fully ensured until its final discontinuation. Discontinued The model has been discontinued. You have the opportunity to secure inventory before the end of the last-time-buy order period. See product discontinuations. For further questions, please contact our sales team.

The GV-5581SE Rev.4.2 GigE Vision camera is equipped with the 4.92 megapixel CMOS sensor (MT9P006STC colour version) from onsemi. About half an inch in size, the sensor delivers a resolution of 2560 x 1920 pixels. Thanks to the innovative A-Pix™ pixel technology, the sensor is very sensitive to light, which makes it an affordable alternative to many CCD sensors currently available on the market. This also makes the camera particularly suitable for applications that require maximum precision in colour rendering and crystal clear image quality. The A-Pix™ pixel technology is based on the gathering of light by a lightguide, which directs the gathered incident light from the colour filter to the surface of the photo diode.

Structure and process improvements in pixel technology have increased the sensitivity of the sensor in the red and green range in particular by up to 30 % compared to the previous version of the sensor.

The GV-5581SE Rev.4.2 board level camera with C-mount lens holder is available in a colour version.

Compact and robust: The uEye SE ("Standard Edition") is the all-round industrial camera with a broad sensor portfolio and countless variants. It has proven itself in industrial use for over a decade. It is consistently designed to support even large-format and fast CMOS sensors. The cameras deliver data at full GigE speed and, thanks to PoE ("Power over Ethernet"), also enable single-cable operation up to 100 meters. In addition, the cameras can be operated with an external 12-24 V power source.
In addition to the screwable RJ45 network connector, the uEye SE GigE cameras have an 8-pin Hirose connector for trigger and flash (optically decoupled) as well as two GPIOs (each with 3.3 V), which enable numerous industrial applications.

All uEye SE models are available either as a housing variant with a special, extremely dust-tight sensor seal or as a board level camera with various lens mount options. The range of applications is therefore very wide and covers fields such as automation, mechanical engineering, the packaging industry and traffic monitoring.

Maximum GigE transfer rate!

Single cable operation up to 100 m

The uEye SE cameras can be operated either with 12-24 V or alternatively via Power-over-Ethernet (PoE). PoE enables practical single-cable operation up to a maximum length of 100m. The host PC load is also significantly reduced by pixel pre-processing (e.g. definable LUT and gamma) in the camera.

Extremely versatile!

For virtually all applications

The uEye SE cameras are available in different versions - including compact, sturdy metal housings and practical board level versions with or without front flange. This makes them a popular choice for a wide range of applications.

Very large selection!

Wide range of sensors

Users can choose from a large number of modern CMOS sensors with a wide range of resolutions that make optimum use of the GigE interface.

Industrial image processing is used in a wide variety of applications - from quality assurance to automation.

Medical technology (and laboratory automation)

Image processing is indispensable in medical technology. For instance, IDS cameras provide data for diagnostic purposes in ophthalmology or dentistry.

Safety technology

Image processing is used, for example, for access control or the monitoring of rooms or outdoor facilities.

Quality assurance

IDS cameras are used in different production phases, e.g. by checking completeness or by detecting defects.

Embedded systemes

Typical scenarios are the use in portable systems for quality control, in diagnostics, in scanners or drones.

Biotechnology and life sciences

Image processing can be used, for example, to analyse living organisms and biological processes - from swarm behaviour to cell division.

Customer information:

New USB 3 camera technology platform

Due to the worldwide semiconductor shortage with the resulting significant delivery delays, we have developed a new USB3 camera technology platform in the uEye+ product line (match code U3) with identical housings, connectors, sensors, lens holders and features. Electronic components are in stock, prototypes for design-ins for many models are available. Series production of the new USB 3 camera revisions is being established or has already started and will then be continuously expanded. The new USB 3 models are ingeniously supported by our Software Development Kit IDS peak. Our camera finder gives you the life cycle of each camera model so that you can take this criterion into account in your camera selection.

Due to the prolonged delivery times for our existing cameras with USB 3 interface, which can continue to be ordered, we are however only offering the newly developed and ready-to-order hardware revisions on our website. You can identify these by the revision number "Rev. x.2".

As an existing IDS customer, please contact our sales team for further information.
