Product Life Cycle Camera in series production. 🛈 Product Life Cycle Long-term availability is an important aspect when selecting the right industrial camera. Our camera finder gives you the life cycle of each camera model so that you can take this criterion into account in your camera selection. The following life cycle statuses are differed: In development The model is not yet in series production, but will be introduced shortly. In series Camera in series production. Not recommended for new designs The model is no longer recommended for new application development. We suggest looking for newer models of the "in series" availability. Discontinued The model has been discontinued. You have the opportunity to secure inventory before the end of the last-time-buy order period. See product discontinuations. The extremely compact U3-3684XLS Rev.1.2 board-level camera offers SuperSpeed USB 5 Gbps and is equipped with the 5.04 MPix AR0521 rolling shutter sensor from onsemi (2592 x 1944 px). The CMOS sensor delivers 48.0 fps and has a pixel size of 2.20 µm. You can choose between models without lens mount and with CS- or S-mount.

Thanks to BSI ("Back Side Illumination") pixel technology, the AR0521 scores not only with strong low-light performance, but also with low power consumption, high sensitivity in the NIR range and low pixel noise. The camera can therefore also be used in applications with low ambient light or changing light conditions.

Like all camera models in the uEye XLS family, the U3-3684XLS Rev.1.2 is GenICam compliant and therefore compatible with our state-of-the-art software development kit SDK IDS peak.

Please note: If you choose a model without filter glass (monochrome sensor, matchcode component "-NO"), make sure that no dust or other particles get onto the sensor during set-up and use.

Also available as a variant for specific performance requirements in the near infrared range (NIR) of the spectrum, i.e. above 750nm wavelength.

Medical technology (and laboratory automation)

Image processing is indispensable in medical technology. For instance, IDS cameras provide data for diagnostic purposes in ophthalmology or dentistry.

Embedded systemes

Typical scenarios are the use in portable systems for quality control, in diagnostics, in scanners or drones.

Logistics

Cameras are indispensable in the logistics sector - e.g. for (de-)palletizing tasks, sorting tasks or in autonomous vehicles.

Robotics

With IDS cameras, robots learn to "see" - this enables applications such as bin picking or (de-)palletizing.
