Product Life Cycle Camera in series production. 🛈 Product Life Cycle Long-term availability is an important aspect when selecting the right industrial camera. Our camera finder gives you the life cycle of each camera model so that you can take this criterion into account in your camera selection. The following life cycle statuses are differed: In development The model is not yet in series production, but will be introduced shortly. In series Camera in series production. Not recommended for new designs The model is no longer recommended for new application development. We suggest looking for newer models of the "in series" availability. Discontinued The model has been discontinued. You have the opportunity to secure inventory before the end of the last-time-buy order period. See product discontinuations. The USB3 Vision industrial camera U3-3880SE Rev.1.2 with the rolling shutter CMOS sensor Sony IMX178 offers a very high resolution of 6.41 MPix (3088 x 2076 px), which is ideal for visualisation tasks in microscopy and as a cost-efficient option for intelligent traffic monitoring systems (ITS). The sensor from the Sony STARVIS series features BSI technology ("back-side-illumination") and is one of the most light-sensitive sensors with a low dark current close to the SCMOS range (Scientific CMOS). It provides impressive results even under extremely low light conditions. In combination with our USB3 Vision industrial cameras, the Sony IMX178 delivers frame rates of up to 59.0 fps at full resolution. Thanks to the 1/1.8" sensor size, a wide range of C-mount lenses is available for the U3-3880SE Rev.1.2 camera model.

Special functions include 60.0 s long exposure and the linescan mode for using the area scan camera as a cost-effective line scan camera alternative.

The U3-3880SE Rev.1.2 is available in both monochrome and colour variants.

This camera model is supported by IDS Vision firmware 2.0 and higher.

Industrial image processing is used in a wide variety of applications - from quality assurance to automation.

Traffic and transport (ITS)

Keeping an eye on everything - IDS cameras recognize vehicles, check the traffic flow or help with rail and road inspections.

Medical technology (and laboratory automation)

Image processing is indispensable in medical technology. For instance, IDS cameras provide data for diagnostic purposes in ophthalmology or dentistry.

Metrology

IDS cameras detect objects and provide accurate information, such as their dimensions or positioning.

Astronomy

Reach for the stars with IDS cameras - image processing shows information that is difficult or impossible for humans to grasp.
