The UI-5240FA is a particularly powerful industrial camera with the e2v 1.3 megapixel CMOS sensor. This is one of the most sensitive sensors in the IDS product portfolio and it is available in monochrome, colour (EV76C560ABT/EV76C560ACT), and NIR versions (EV76C661ABT). Besides its outstanding sensitivity to light in CCD quality, the camera also has a range of other distinctive features: For example, the sensor provides two global shutter and two rolling shutter modes, which you can switch between while the camera is in operation. This makes the sensor extremely flexible if requirements or ambient conditions change. There are also up to four areas of interest (AOI).

You can use these either to check several features simultaneously or to capture AOIs in a sequence of exposures using a wide range of different parameters. The PoE version also provides two additional general purpose I/Os (GPIOs). The power supply is provided by the screw-on, dust proof and splash water proof M12 circular connector.

Detailed information on the e2v CMOS sensors EV76C560/EV76C661 is available here.

Strong and robust: The uEye FA is particularly robust and therefore ideally suited for use in demanding environments such as factory automation. Camera housings, lens tubes and screwable connectors (8-pin M12 connector with X-coding and 8-pin Binder connector) meet the requirements of protection class IP65/67. This means that the models can withstand even the harshest industrial environments.
They are also especially suitable for multi-camera operation: an integrated image memory decouples image acquisition from image transmission.

Camera-internal functions such as pixel pre-processing, LUT or Gamma reduce the required computing power to a minimum.
The extensive accessories, such as lens tubes and drag chain cables, are just as tough. The cameras are also designed for large format sensors and are typically used for machine vision tasks in industrial plants and quality assurance.

Especially tough!

Particularly sturdy thanks to IP65/67

The industrial cameras meet protection class IP65/67 and are therefore optimally protected against dirt, dust and water splashes.

Maximum GigE transfer rate!

Single cable operation up to 100 m

The uEye FA cameras can be operated either with 12-24 V or alternatively via Power-over-Ethernet (PoE). PoE enables practical single-cable operation up to a maximum length of 100m.

It's so easy!

Plug & Play principle

The cameras are automatically detected in the system and are immediately ready for use. Buy a camera, connect it, receive an image - it couldn't be easier!

3D-Scanning

The depth information of 3D images provides valuable data - for example for dentistry, back or foot measurement.

Machine vision

Industrial image processing is used in a wide variety of applications - from quality assurance to automation.

Traffic and transport (ITS)

Keeping an eye on everything - IDS cameras recognize vehicles, check the traffic flow or help with rail and road inspections.

Medical technology (and laboratory automation)

Image processing is indispensable in medical technology. For instance, IDS cameras provide data for diagnostic purposes in ophthalmology or dentistry.

Safety technology

Image processing is used, for example, for access control or the monitoring of rooms or outdoor facilities.

Gesture and eye tracking

Whether for research or entertainment: IDS cameras can be used to track eye movements and gestures, for example.

Quality assurance

IDS cameras are used in different production phases, e.g. by checking completeness or by detecting defects.

Astronomy

Reach for the stars with IDS cameras - image processing shows information that is difficult or impossible for humans to grasp.

Factory / process automation

Cameras are used in monitoring, control, regulation and optimization systems and help e.g. with localization and selection tasks.

Monitoring

Image processing can be used, for example, to record visitor numbers and customer behaviour and carry out entrance controls.

Endless web inspection

Whether steel, paper or fabrics - IDS cameras always keep an eye on their test object and detect, for example, material defects or stains.
