Robotics Hackathon at IPAI

10 teams, 2 days – robots learning to see

At the Robotics Hackathon at IPAI (Innovation Park Artificial Intelligence), teams from industry and research worked together to solve real‑world challenges using AI and robotics. IDS participated with industrial cameras and computer‑vision expertise, supporting the event both technically and as an active team member.

The tasks – developed by AUDI AG, FANUC Europe, and SCHUNK – focused on enabling robots to perform complex actions through natural language, ranging from dynamic production layouts to delicate assembly processes.

Our cameras provided the visual foundation needed to translate spoken commands into precise robotic motion. Together with Intel and STACKIT, we supported more than 50 participants in reliably connecting AI algorithms with real‑world robotics.

The takeaway: Human‑robot interaction powered by AI works particularly well when the underlying vision technology is robust, easy to integrate, and suitable for diverse environments.

Many thanks to IPAI and all partners for creating such an open and productive environment!
