The first of its kind: the intelligent industrial camera IDS NXT malibu is part of the all-in-one AI system IDS NXT and features a special chip from Ambarella that was originally used in action cameras. IDS NXT malibu thus makes the technology available in an industrial context for the first time. The image information of the light-sensitive onsemi sensor AR0521 is processed hardware accelerated directly on the camera. An ISP with helpful automatic features, such as for brightness, noise and colour correction, ensures that excellent image quality is ensured.

IDS NXT malibu independently performs AI-based image analyses at high speed (>25fps) and displays them as live overlays in compressed video streams via RTSP (Real Time Streaming Protocol). In addition, streaming via MJPEG is also possible, which means that the video stream can be displayed directly - without AI overlay - as live images in any browser.

Customers therefore benefit from a embedded vision platform that enables live AI vision. The combination of perfect image quality, OnCamera AI + compression + video streaming allows for completely PC-independent operation.

Like the IDS NXT rio and rome models, IDS NXT malibu has a compact, industrial-grade housing with GigE interface and offers a REST API.
