The IDS NXT oslo is a smart embedded vision camera that combines artificial intelligence with excellent image quality. Its robust housing is IP69K-certified and offers maximum protection against dust and high-pressure water – ideal for use in demanding industrial environments. Thanks to its compact design and industrial-grade M12 connectors, it can be flexibly and reliably integrated into a wide variety of applications.
The camera delivers compressed video streams in full sensor resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels at more than 25 frames per second. H.264 and MJPEG are available. Via RTSP, the IDS NXT oslo sends up to three parallel streams to standard clients. No additional PC is required. Video sequences can be stored in the internal memory or transferred to an FTP server via software or IO signal. The computer vision architecture of the Ambarella SoC with integrated Neural Processing Unit (NPU) performs image analysis with its own networks directly on the camera. Result data is available via REST or as an overlay in the live stream.
The modern 3.15 MP Sony IMX900 Global Shutter sensor from the Pregius series is used for imaging. It delivers outstanding image quality with a high dynamic range and enables fast movements to be captured without distortion, even under challenging conditions. Despite its small 1/3.1" sensor area, it impresses with high light sensitivity and stable image quality, even in unfavourable or oblique lighting conditions. The central processing unit is a powerful SoC from Ambarella, known from the IDS NXT malibu. The integrated image signal processor automatically performs tasks such as brightness adjustment, colour correction and lens distortion compensation, ensuring optimum image quality at all times – even under difficult conditions.
The combination of high-quality image quality, on-camera analysis, compression, streaming and recording allows for PC-free operation. The IDS NXT oslo can be integrated into applications via a platform-independent web interface and a REST API.
