The IDS NXT oslo is a smart embedded vision camera that combines artificial intelligence with excellent 4K image quality. Its robust housing is IP69K-certified and offers maximum protection against dust and high-pressure water - ideal for use in demanding industrial environments. The camera enables video streaming and recording in full sensor resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels and processes image data directly on the device. Thanks to its compact design and industrial-grade M12 connectors, it can be flexibly and reliably integrated into a wide range of applications.
The state-of-the-art 8.29 MP Rolling Shutter sensor IMX678 from the Sony Starvis 2 series is used for imaging. It delivers outstanding image quality with a high dynamic range and is also impressive in low light - ideal for industrial applications with changing lighting conditions. Image processing takes place directly on the camera and is hardware-accelerated. The central processing unit is a powerful SoC from Ambarella, known from the IDS NXT malibu. The integrated image signal processor automatically performs tasks such as brightness adjustment, colour correction and lens distortion compensation, ensuring optimum image quality at all times - even under difficult conditions.
The computer vision architecture of the Ambarella SoC enables compressed videos (H.264, MJPEG) in full sensor resolution with more than 25 frames per second. The camera streams live in up to 3 parallel streams to several standard streaming clients via the RTSP protocol - without the need for an additional PC. Triggered via software or IO line, video sequences can also be saved in the persistent camera memory or transferred directly to an FTP server. The integrated Neural Processing Unit (NPU) performs powerful image analyses with self-trained neural networks directly on the camera and generates result data that can be provided via REST or as overlay data in the live stream.
The combination of perfect image quality, on-camera AI + compression + video streaming + recording enables completely PC-independent operation. Nevertheless, the IDS NXT oslo can be integrated into applications via a fully platform-independent web interface using REST-API.
