The tiny uEye XLS-E camera models feature the event-based 1/2.5" Sony Prophesee IMX636 sensor to capture only the relevant pixel changes in HD resolution. Unlike industrial cameras with image-based sensors, which transmit full megapixel image data at a fixed frame rate, the event-based camera captures contrast changes at each sensor pixel (1280 x 720). Pixel position and time stamp are then transmitted asynchronously as one event via USB3 interface (SuperSpeed USB, 5 Gpbs) to the host PC.
To integrate the uEye XLS-E into software applications, the Metavision SDK from Prophesee can be used. The IDS HAL plugin ensures that the IDS camera is directly compatible with the sensor manufacturer's development tools.
With extremely compact dimensions (29 x 29 x 7 mm), very low weight and lockable USB Type B connection, the industrial cameras are ideal for embedded applications. Customers can choose between models without a lens mount and with a C/CS or S mount.
