New software release IDS peak 2.1 available
SDK now supports Windows 11 and uEye cameras under Linux
IDS peak is the SDK of choice for our uEye+ and uEye industrial cameras. The software allows you to quickly and easily capture first images and to evaluate and configure your cameras in detail without having to write a line of code. With the release of IDS peak 2.1, we now also support the operating systems Windows 11, Debian 11 and Ubuntu 22.04.
In addition, the update allows the use of uEye cameras ("UI" models) under Linux thanks to the revised uEye Transport Layer. Our team has also integrated many other detail improvements into the release. From this version onwards, the uEye Transport Layer can be used, for example, with the pulse width modulation functions for USB 3 and GigE uEye models. A detailed description of all new and changed features can be found in the Release Notes on our website.
We provide the IDS peak software environment for both uEye+ and uEye industrial cameras. In our portfolio, uEye+ refers to industrial cameras that are addressed via the GigE Vision and USB3 Vision protocol standards and are compatible with any GenICam-compliant application. uEye cameras (matchcode component "UI") do not come with standard-compliant vision firmware and therefore require IDS driver software to operate in a machine vision application. For new projects, we therefore recommend the use of uEye+ industrial cameras.
You can find all information on getting started and switching over as well as a detailed description of the essential functions of the software development kit on our IDS peak software page.
