The USB 3 industrial camera UI-3880CP with 1/1.8" rolling shutter Sony IMX178 CMOS sensor provides very high resolution of 6.4 MP (3088 x 2076 px), which makes it especially perfect for visualization tasks in microscopy, and a cost-driven option for Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS). The BSI sensor of Sony’s STARVIS series is one of the most light-sensitive sensors in our portfolio, offering an amazing image quality even in low-light conditions.
In combination with our USB 3 industrial cameras, the Sony IMX178 sensor delivers frame rates up to 58 fps at full resolution. Due to its 1/1.8" sensor format, a wide range of C-Mount lenses for the UI-3880CP USB camera model will be available.

Incredibly fast, incredibly reliable, incredible sensors: the uEye CP stands for "Compact Power" and is the tiny powerhouse for industrial applications of all kinds. It offers maximum functionality with extensive pixel pre-processing and, thanks to the internal 120 MB image memory, is also perfectly suited for multi-camera systems. The USB 3.0 cameras enable a high data rate of 420 MByte/s, low CPU utilization and easy integration.
Users can choose from a large number of modern CMOS sensors from manufacturers such as Sony, CMOSIS, e2v and ON Semiconductor with different resolutions. Due to its innovative, patented housing design with dimensions of only 29 x 29 x 29 millimetres and best processing quality, the camera makes even designer hearts beat faster. In addition, screwable cables ensure a reliable electrical connection.
The cameras are suitable, for example, for tasks in fields such as automation, automotive, printing and packaging, medical technology and life sciences, agriculture, logistics as well as traffic and transport.
Note: Due to the high performance of modern sensors, some USB 3.0 uEye CP models are not supported in USB 2.0 mode. The USB 2.0 interface does not provide sufficient power for this. Further information can be found in the manual for IDS Software Suite.
It's so easy!
Plug & Play principle
The cameras are automatically detected in the system and are immediately ready for use. Buy a camera, connect it, receive an image - it couldn't be easier!
Versatile use!
Practical 8-pin I/O connector
Real-time image trigger capability, synchronous flash signals, a serial communication interface and two GPIOs which can be operated as both an input and an output, open up a huge range of applications.
Extremely compact!
Dimensions 29 x 29 x 29 mm
The small magnesium housing is as light (approx. 50 grams) as it is sturdy. This underlines the uncompromising industrial suitability of the cameras. They are ideal for space-critical applications and particularly suitable for use in multi-camera and 3D systems.

Customer information:
New USB 3 camera technology platform
Due to the worldwide semiconductor shortage with the resulting significant delivery delays, we have developed a new USB3 camera technology platform in the uEye+ product line (match code U3) with identical housings, connectors, sensors, lens holders and features. Electronic components are in stock and serial production has started. The new USB 3 models are ingeniously supported by our Software Development Kit IDS peak.
Due to the prolonged delivery times for our existing cameras, which can continue to be ordered, we are however only offering the newly developed hardware revisions on our website. You can identify these by the revision number "Rev. 2.2".
As an existing IDS customer, please contact our sales team for further information.
