Product Life Cycle Camera in series production. 🛈 Product Life Cycle Long-term availability is an important aspect when selecting the right industrial camera. Our camera finder gives you the life cycle of each camera model so that you can take this criterion into account in your camera selection. The following life cycle statuses are differed: In development The model is not yet in series production, but will be introduced shortly. In series Camera in series production. Not recommended for new designs The model is no longer recommended for new application development. We suggest looking for newer models of the "in series" availability. Discontinued The model has been discontinued. You have the opportunity to secure inventory before the end of the last-time-buy order period. See product discontinuations. Large format 1.1" CMOS Global Shutter sensor in a compact industrial camera measuring just 29 x 29 x 29 mm: the U3-3990CP Rev 2.2delivers impressive 20.36 MPix. Thanks to the powerful, extremely high-resolution IMX541 sensor from the Pregius S series - a fourth-generation Sony sensor - customers benefit from outstanding image quality. This is due to the integrated BSI technology ("Back Side Illuminated") on the one hand, and the remarkably small pixel size of only 2.74 µm on the other, which results in an exceptionally high pixel density.

The light-sensitive USB3 camera delivers fast 19.0 fps, which leaves nothing to be desired even in demanding machine vision applications such as surface inspections, detailed image evaluations in medical technology or use in the traffic sector.

The model is a sensible alternative to cameras with similarly high-resolution but larger sensors, for which F-mount lenses are usually required. Here, C-mount lenses can be used - which results in a considerable cost saving.

The U3-3990CP Rev 2.2 is available in both monochrome and colour versions. We recommend using it in combination with our versatile IDS peak SDK.

The power consumption may exceed the usual USB3 values. It is possible that the camera cannot be operated on every system. The frame rate can be reduced if necessary.

Machine vision

Industrial image processing is used in a wide variety of applications - from quality assurance to automation.

Metrology

IDS cameras detect objects and provide accurate information, such as their dimensions or positioning.

Safety technology

Image processing is used, for example, for access control or the monitoring of rooms or outdoor facilities.

Mechanical engineering

From inspection on the production line to controlling entire systems - camera technology helps to ensure smooth processes.

Process control

Cameras check the material supply in the process and are used e.g. for the intermediate and final inspection of products.
